February is Here!!!!!

I just love February!  This year we will be having a Valentine's Day Celebration on Monday 2/14 during group time.  For our party- each child will need a decorated Valentines Box(with their name on) and 26 Valentines to share.  An empty Kleenex box or shoe box make a great container for Valentines.  Your child will have so much fun decorating their box with you!  As far as Valentines go, please only put your child's name on them(it makes for easier passing-out during the party) and candy is OK for this party.

SCIENCE!!!!!
Has you child mentioned any of the experiments we have been doing here in the classroom?  We have done some with water and ice, we are growing salt crystals, and now are looking at chemical reactions!  We have pennies cleaning themselves in salt/vinegar solution and have a penny tarnishing solution as well.

Have you moved?  Did you get a new phone number?  Change jobs?  Do I have all of you current contact information?  Sadly it is cold/flu season again and I am finding it difficult to reach some of you when your child is ill.  It is imperative that I have good contact number for you!  Stop in and check my emergency folder to see what info I have for you.

My favorite part of Winter Break is when the children return to the classroom in January.  That first week back is always the most peaceful week of the year!  The students are ready to get busy and work, work ,work!

We have been starting our studies on the properties of water and ice, Mammals and birds of the Artic, South America and Vincent VanGogh.

Thank you to everyone who signed up for conferences!  I love to talk about the childrens' successes!
